Good solid silver double full sovereign holder of plain cushion form with a spring loaded hinged lid, push button clasp and suspension loop. For 1902 steeplechase (see images). Fully hallmarked with the anchor for Birmingham assay, the lion passant indicating 925 grade solid silver, date letter "a" for the year 1900 and the maker's mark which is Henry Matthews. Condition - There is a minor dint to the back just above the engraved letter "G".
Other than that the case is. In excellent condition, fully functioning, snaps shut securely and no looseness to hinge and clasp. Dimensions & Weight - 5.7cm long x 2.9cm wide x 1.7cm deep.
