R. Blackinton Co. Art Nouveau Sterling Victorian Compact Purse circa 1890-1910

  
Offered for sale is a Sterling Silver "Ladies Compact Purse" with a beautiful Art Nouveau style manufactured by the R. The outside on both the front and back of the purse have beautiful brite cut Art Nouveau Flowers and Leaves pattern covering the lids totally on both sides. There is a sterling pencil which fits on the top edge into a special slot on the outside of the case and a sterling chain that is attached to the purse. The inside compartments still hold the mirror, a pad for writing notes, a small powder puff and silver pencil. The Sterling Ladies Compact purse is approximately 3 1/4" by 2 1/4" and 3/8 width. It weighs 4.30 troy ozs. (see pictures for close ups). The compact has the manufactures hallmark and sterling on the inside compartment as shown in the pictures.

There is a beautiful set of script initials on the front of the compact purse. The purse opens and closes perfectly the way it should with the snap clasp.

The Purse has normal surface wear. Commensurate with the age of the piece and normal usage. (see pictures for close ups) The dark spots on the compact/purse are reflections off the dark blue camera and the picture taker.
