Native Americans generaly used stones found on the surface in early peieces, rather than mines pieces. There are some old tool marks, back is closed. It is unsigned and unmarked. Ring is in good condition with some wear consistent with use. It weights 9.6 grams. Ring face is approximately 1 3/4" long and 3/4" wide at widest point. It measures approximatley a size 4.75 though may vary slightly. It was aquired from a Northern California estate, near Napa. It is unsigned and unmakred, sterling silver.
See photos for full description. Ring appears to be Old Pawn, or made shortly thereafter. We estimate based on construction, it was most likely made between 1880 and 1930. It looks t be a piece made by native American for their own use rather than for sale.It has been cleaned and polished, although some bits of tarnish remain, mainly around the shenk, it was heavily tarnished when found. Photos were taken both with flash and under normal indoor lighting.
