Large Barnard Victorian Antique English Sterling Silver Coffee Pot London 1839
This is a fine and ornate antique Victorian sterling silver coffee pot made by the Barnard Family and hallmarked in the early years of Queen Victoria in London 1839. It is in very good condition and stands firmly on a cast silver base with scroll feet. It is hallmarked in 4 places - main body, handle, lid and the attractive cast flower finial. The coffee (or could be equally used for tea) pot has lightly engraved initials and an attractive scalloped upper rim. There is further applied decoration to the handle and ornate spout. A superb silver coffee/tea pot and typical of the high quality for which this family of silversmiths is rightly renowned. (NB any shadows shown on photographs are merely reflections).
