Chatelaine is made by John Newton Mappin - Mappin & Webb, London, 1890. Weighing a total 172.5 grams or 5.5 ozs Troy, this fabulous antique set measures: - chatelaine is 3 7/8" long and 2 7/8" wide; - pencil case is 2 1/2" long and 3/8" in diameter; - needle case is 2 3/8" tall, 5/8" long and 3/8" wide; - thimble case is 7/8" in diameter and 1 3/8" tall; - scissors are 3 1/2" long, case is 2 3/8" tall and 3/4" wide at the top; - match safe is 1 5/8" tall, 1" wide and 3/8 thick. The soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing.
