Early Victorian 14K & Sterling Rosecut Diamonds Emerald Pink Conch Pearl Pendant

A lovely early Victorian transitional period Pendant / Brooch. This pendant/ brooch dates from the 1830s/40s. It is crafted from sterling silver and 14K Yellow gold. The pendant features a fold down swivel bail as well as a locking brooch findings all in 14karat yellow gold. The balance is sterling silver. The pendant has a very interesting look. I adore the split pink natural conch pearl in the center. It appears as if the diamonds also have a pink hue to them towards the top. The top of the brooch/pendant does feature pink-toned rose cut diamonds and the bottom portion colorless. This pendant looks absolutely amazing in the natural sunlight. The pendant or brooch is filled with rose cut diamonds, seed pearls, an emerald as well as fresh and natural pearls. The reason that I feel this is a transitional era piece is the two diamond drops at the bottom are in a foil closed back collette setting. The balance of the diamonds are in an open back setting. All of the stones are completely natural prong as well as bezel set. In the very center of this pendant a square cut emerald which displays such a lovely color pallet for the entire piece. All of the diamonds appear to be original as well as the pearls. The only questionable drop is the bottom center pearl drop. I can only ASSUME that there may have been another collette set rose cut diamond drop, but I could be wrong as this is the way this piece presented itself to me.

I was unable to find any hallmarks, but tested as 14k & sterling silver with all natural stones and pearls. Please note the closed back diamond drops should never be in contact with water or cleaning agents as this will destroy the foil backing which is presently, in excellent condition. Length including bail: 53 mm. Pink natural pearl: 3.77 mm.

Collette set Rose cut pear diamonds: 6.3 x 5 mm estimated without setting. Emerald: 2.5 x 2.5 mm.

Rosse cut diamond not including drops: 31 in total ranging from 4mm down to 1.75 mm. Of course I honor this policy.
