Fine Quality Victorian Hallmarked Solid Sterling Silver Tea Caddy Made By Renowned Silversmith George Unite. Description - Suburb late 19th century good heavy gauge solid silver rectangular tea caddy in the Queen Ann style with a pull off domed cap and slide action top allowing the caddy to be easily refilled. Fully hallmarked with the leopard's head for London assay, the lion passant indicating 925 grade solid sterling silver, the date letter "T" for the year 1894 and the maker's mark "GU" which is George Unite & Sons.The slide action top and cap are also hallmarked. Condition - In very good condition, there is just a very small dint to the front edge (please inspect end photograph) and there are a cople of tiny abrasions which are barely visible, the sliding top is in excellent working order and the cap fits securely. Dimensions & weight - The caddy is 11.6cm high (to the top of the finial) x 8.4cm wide (at the base). The weight is 159 grams.
