Antique Sterling Silver Victorian Belt & Buckle Ring. B'ham 1896 - U. This is beautiful silver ring dating from the latter years of the Victorian era - the piece carries full U. Hallmarks for Birmingham 1896 and has the silversmiths mark for Robert Pringle. As can be seen in the images the design is that of a traditional style belt and buckle - around the buckle and retaining strap area the silver has been very nicely engraved with leaf and flower head motifs.I believe that technically speaking this is mans ring on account of the gauge of silver and the thickness of the band - naturally, a lady could also wear this nowadays and would just give a'chunkier' look to the piece when worn on the finger. The ring is currently sized at a U. Size P 1/2 which is a U. The condition of the ring is good all round and there are no issues to report - there are perfectly normal minor signs of wear and use as you'd expect from a piece that is well over 120 years old - the hallmarks are nice and clear and perfectly readable - an altogether very nice and wearable piece of jewellery.
