The piece measures 7.3 cms maximum length not including the suspension ring; and 3.2 cms wide. Weighs 43.5g (all approximate).
The case has a lovely gilded interior that is in super condition. It appears from that perspective to have had very little use as a vesta or sovereign holder. The vesta lid springs open and snaps shut. The sovereign holder cover springs open when the button is pressed, and again will snap shut, with a little gap.The front of the piece has what appears to be intricate initials engraved, but I have no idea what they are. There is a shallow dent in the area of the initials.
On the reverse side, there is a noticeable shallow dent on the sovereign holder lid running it's length, and a couple of pinprick type indentations on the panel beneath. I have now added some further pictures of the dents as the original images were unclear. It's always difficult to photograph imperfections in silver because of light reflections but I hope these are an improvement. I hope my description gives sufficient information.I have lots of interesting silver listed in my shop; please take a look.
